February Playlist

Ive decided to do things a little differently with the playlists, instead of linking songs individually I'm just going to add them into one big Spotify playlist and link it below, that way you can hear all the songs in one place!
This month has been a little down for me, and the playlist reflects that. So sorry that its not more upbeat!

Smashbox Full Exposure Palette Review & Swatches

I'd been contemplating getting this palette for ages but never even realised that it wasn't available in Australia yet. So when I saw it in Kit Cosmetics in the "Just Arrived" section I figured that I may as well buy it. The palette itself cost me $69.95 which may seem a lot but it works out to be around $5 an eye shadow plus you get a double ended eye shadow brush included, so overall its not that expensive. However in America this palette retails for $49, a full $20 cheaper then here in Australia, making the eye shadows $3.50 each, the price difference makes me angry but I don't even want to get into that.

Onto the palette,  you get 14 shadows, 7 are matte and 7 are shimmers. Each matte colour has a corresponding shimmery colour which I personally think its great, having a matte and a shimmer of the same colour is perfect for people beginning out in the world of makeup.

All of the colours are super wearable and super neutral. You've got warm browns and cool toned browns, shimmery champaign colours and matte nudes, you also get a matte navy/black colour
which is perfect for liner or for defining the crease.
Bottom Row, Matte Colours
                                                                 Top Row, Shimmers

This palette will be fantastic for travelling, you literally get every neutral colour you would ever need, and every dark colour that you would need to create the perfect smoky night time look. Another fantastic thing is that the brush that comes with the palette is actually usable. For once you get a fluffy blending brush instead of a stiff flat shader brush like the ones you get in the Naked Palettes. Although you do get one of those on the other end of the brush that it comes with.

Rihanna Viva Glam Lipstick Review & Swatches

If you haven't figured it out by now, I have a slight obsession with Rihanna. I also have another obsession with lipsticks...and the fact that the two have been combined it just an absolute joy. The latest offering from the Rihanna for MAC collection is a special one. Its a Viva Glam one which means that 100% of the profits from every purchase goes directly to the Aids Fund. So when it came to buying this it was a no brainer.
Like the other Riri Hearts Mac lipsticks it comes in special packaging, this one being a red tube with the Rihanna signature detail on the lipstick bullet.
Its a much cooler toned red then the others from previous Rihanna collections, and has a slight blue undertone to it which makes your teeth look incredibly white!
Another great thing about this one is that its not a super matte finish like the others, its much creamier making it so much easier to apply.

Overall, its not a must have for your collection as its basically just your typical red lip. However, if your a makeup lover, a Rihanna lover and someone who wants to do some good then I'd say its definitely worth buying.

Bellabox Australia: February Box

Ive gotten rather skeptical of the bellabox recently, I've just been disappointed with the last few that I've received. So when they get delivered I'm usually hesitant to to open them. This month surprised me and was not valentines day themed, and instead was themed Red Carpet Ready.
I guess they've accumulated a list of products that they feel will get you ready for any big event, which I'm not sure they've done, but anyway onto the products.
There were a lot of more pampering type products, more suited for a spa day and not so much to prepare for an event. A face mask, cleanser,  a body lotion and a facial tonic were the skin care items in the box. You also received a hair care item which is for curly hair I don't have curly hair whatsoever so I've passed that onto a friend who does! The most exciting item in the box was a red lipstick from the brand She which is actually one of the nicest products I think I've received in a bellabox to date.
Overall this box was slightly underwhelming, only because it was meant to be "Red Carpet Ready" I would have expected some more glamorous type products in the box. We'll wait and see what next month brings, hopefully its less skin care and more actual makeup type products.

A Rather Large Hair Goodies Hauls

While I was browsing the aisles of Priceline as I do, I was looking at all the hair care bits when one of the sales assistants came and stood right next to me. First I was kind of freaked out but then she said "If your going to spend more then $40, wait till tomorrow and buy it online...." and then she slipped away. I've never been so confused in my entire life but I took her advice and boy was I happy. Turns out everything was 20% off and you got a free goodie bag when you spent 40$ or more. So a huge thank you goes to the amazing sales assistant at Priceline for allowing me to get so much free stuff!
So firstly I'll go over what I actually bought. All I needed was a new dry shampoo which is what sparked this whole little haul which then turned into a rather large one.  I got two of the Batiste dry shampoos, one in a travel size and one in the largest size. I also got a new heat protectant from Toni&Guy and a hair mask from the same brand. I also bought a volumeising spray from the Elvive range which I have used and I don't think it really does anything besides smell nice.
Now onto the freebies! The pack came in a hideous patent leather tote bag which came filled with 140$ worth of products. From left to right pictured above I received;

  • Pantene 3 Minute Miracle
  • Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical
  • Shwarzcopf Volumeizing Mousse
  • Frizz Ease Serum
  • John Frieda Conditioner
  • Colour Extreme Green hair spray
  • Bun Shaper
  • Loreal Elnet Hair Spray
  • Toni&Guy Shampoo for Brunette Hair
  • You also get three free hair colour products that you have to go in store to receive

If your in Australia and needing some hair care products check out Priceline as this offer is still valid and definitely worth it!

Valentines Day Lip - Lime Crime Pink Velvet Review & Swatches

I've always loved Lime Crime lip products, and I own a few other actual lipsticks but I've never owned one of these liquid type lip products. This one is in Pink Velvet and is a gorgeous true magenta pink colour.
The packaging for this is super cute, its in like a plastic tube with a bright pink lid covered in roses. It has a doe foot applicator which I usually don't like as it doesn't give you much control but this one is tiny and makes the product really easy to use.
The formula for these is unlike any i've ever tried, its super liquidy when you first apply it, making it easy to smooth over your lips and to be precise with your application. After a minute or two it dries completely matte. It still has a sort of stickyness to it though but the overally look of the product is matte.
These have super long staying power on the lips, you could eat and drink with this on and it wont transfer onto anything, it also doesn't fade like normal lipsticks tend to, it just stays in place. I guess that is also the downside to this product, the fact that it doesn't budge when its on makes it hard to take off. However  a little make up remove and a little scrub will eventually remove it.
Overall I would highly recommend these, they come in a few other colours and this one especially would make an amazing valentines day lip colour.

A Beauty Haul

I ran out of my Porefessional Primer last month and decided it was time to restock, however instead of just buying the one product like I should have, I bought 10 others. So here is a little or rather large haul of the things that I should not have bought but did!.

For the Face

I bought another POREfessional and then was tempted into buying the gimme brow because I needed an eyebrow gel anyways and this one is apparently amazing, so I got it. I also got a Paint Pot from MAC in soft ocre purely because NikkieTutorials on Youtube uses it for every eye shadow look she does and she is flawless. I then got a navy cream eye product from Nars, this one is in Ubangi and is gorgeous, Im hoping to use this as an eye liner.

For the Body

I bought a spray on moisturiser from Vaseline, purely because it comes in an aerosol can and I am the laziest person ever when it comes to moisturising my body apart from my legs. This looked fun, so I bought it I have an issue I know.  I've also been really keen to try the bondi sands everyday spf tanning milk, to use as a gradual natural tan.

For the Nails

The Maybelline Express Remover is amazing at removing nail polish, this was a repurchase because the original one I bought got ruined when I tried to remove glitter polish...long story short don't use this for glitter as it will just put glitter everywhere. I wanted to try the new Revlon Parfumerie Nail polishes because apparently they are scented, haven't used these yet but I'm super excited to.

For the Lips

Lime crime is my favourite brand for lips so when I saw this one in Pink Velvet I needed it in my life, this is gorgeous and does not disappoint, full review of this product coming soon! I also got one of the new Maybelline Matte Bold lip colours.

So that is everything I bought don't judge me!
