June Favourites

I feel like I say this every month but June has literally just run straight past me without me even realising it. And with it comes another round of favourites!

Rough Texturiser

I got this product because I really wanted to try the Oribe one that adds texture into your hair. This one however is easy to find in Australia and only cost me $12! It is amazing! I tend to spray it in after I've done my curls and before I add any hairspray. I find that it adds a second day feel into first day hair which is awesome for getting those messy slept in waves that I adore!

Bio Sculpture Nails

I'm not allowed to wear any sort of polish whatsoever on my nails for work however because of the types of work that I do my nails tend to break really easily and just look terrible most of the time. So I decided to break the rules and opt for a really natural looking solution. Bio Sculpture gel is a gel that sits on top of your nails and on top of polish if you choose to get polish. I opted for clear simply because I am not allowed to have colour for work. The gel allows my nails to stay healthy and keeps them strong without looking really fake like clear acrylics can!

Bondi Sands Tan

It's winter and I'm seriously pale, so I've been fake tanning quiet a bit this month. The tan that I go for is the Bondi Sands Dark Foam which is really amazing at leaving you with a natural looking tan! Now I know that the "dark" in the name might seem scary but trust me its not. I find myself using two or three coats of the light one which can be really annoying so instead I just use one light layer of the dark and Im sorted. It goes on sort of green which again might seem scary but it means that you aren't left with that weird orangey looking skins when you're done, all you do is jump in the shower and the green washes away and you are left with a golden tan.

Bourjois Velvet Pink Pop

I've been suffering from winter blues this month and the best cure for this is a bright pink lip. This offering from Bourjois is perfect for this as it is amazingly creamy and long lasting plus the colour pay off is incredible! I've done a review of these so check that out for a full post.

Whirl Lip Liner

When I'm not feeling a bright lip I go for the exact opposite and that is a dark nude. This lip liner is the one that I used in my Kylie Jenner tutorial and I am actually obsessed with it. Its the perfect nude shade that is slightly darker then my lips which is really nice for the colder months. This works so well and is so smooth to apply that I find myself using it like a lipgloss when layered over a balm!

So there are my favourites! What have you been loving this month?

June Haul

The haul for June isn't the largest which means I deserve a severe pat on the back for the restraint that I've shown!

Luxola

Brush Set

The reason for this purchase is simple, I'm using it on clients until I purchase the set I'll need for my course. Once I get that set I'll use this one for me!

Sleek Palette

Sleek is a brand that I'm only just getting into, but this Divine Natural palette just seemed like the perfect thing to try from their eye shadows, it was super cheap and the shadows are amazing! Definitely give this one a try if you're in the market for a neutral palette thats affordable.

Zoeva Blush Palette

This Sun Blush Palette from Zoeva is incredible for taking with me when I'm doing a clients makeup. It has everything you'd need for blush, highlight and bronzer. It's also perfect for travelling not that I do that too often!

Mecca Maxima

Nars Duo

Kalahari is a duo that I have been lusting after for the longest time, its the perfect duo for everyday and then for night with a shimmery warm brown and a shimmery dark taupe.

Nars Primer

I was in need of a new primer and decided to give this one a go. Let me tell you right now its the best primer that I have ever used. Your eye shadow will not move when you apply this under it, 4, 5 even six hours after I applied my shadow and it doesn't budge.

Bonds

Trackies

Everyone needs new sweatpants don't they?

Hoodie

I bought this as a workout jumper for when I got to Body Balance in the wee hours of friday morning. Its lightweight but still heavy enough that I don't get too cold when doing our meditation warm downs!

Asos

Jumper

Don't really know why I bought this one, maybe because it was 11$!!!! I know 11$ for a knit I would have been silly not to buy it. It's super soft and really warm which I didn't think it would be so I'm pleasantly surprised with this item.

Cardigan

I am obsessed with the fit of this cardigan, it hangs so nicely on the body and doesn't make me look huge which some cardigans tend to do! It also has a cool crossover design on the back which adds a little something different to the whole thing, plus its super warm!

Boots

These boots are my favourite thing from the entire haul, they have become my everyday running out the door and need shoes kind of boots. They are so comfy and go with everything and the fact that they were only around $40 makes them even better!

So that is everything I have bought this past month! What have you guys been buying?

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets Review

These little guys are a new release here in Australia, they've been out for a few weeks but I hesitated in purchasing them because when they first launched they were $24 a pop. Which makes me slightly angry because I could spend an extra $10 and get a Mac lipstick. For some reason I compare all prices to Mac prices I don't know why. Anyway the reason that I bought these two was because Priceline had them on offer for $10 each!! So I got two!

The colours that I got are number 6 Pink Pop and number 3 Hot Pepper. They have a few other colours but they didn't really appeal to me as much as these ones did.

They are supposed to be a liquid lipstick type thing, the packaging says "Light texture, extreme comfort and 24 hour hold" and I have to say that with these two colours they are 100% right. They go on so super opaque which is amazing, and they aren't liquidy at all which makes them really easy to apply as they don't slide all over the place. They are almost creamy but kind of thick at the same time, its really hard to explain! The applicator is a doe foot applicator with a tapered end so it makes it really easy to get the shape of your lips without having to use a lip brush.

Another massive plus for these is that they do last a really long time, not really sure if they last 24 hours because I haven't worn one for that long don't know if I ever would. But in the time that I did have it on I could tell that they weren't going to dry out my lips at all, even after a few hours they still had a creamy texture to them which is really nice on the lips as it isn't sticky at all. They aren't transfer proof though a simple kiss on the back of my hand left a lip print, however it didn't seem to remove any product from my lips as they still looked exactly the same!

A Change In Career - I'm Going To The Makeup Academy! - A Quickie Post

One thing you probably don't know about me is that I am currently not in University even though I'm 21 years old and very well could be. The truth is, when I left school I had a very clear idea of what I wanted to do with my life or so I thought. That career path was down the social work/justice/law way. Boy was I incredibly wrong. You see at 16, when we had to choose our subjects you have no idea what the real world is like and you hear all these things from people older then you about what you should be doing and because you are so young you listen to them because thats what you've been doing your entire life. The career path that everyone told me to go down was the social work one, which turns out after two half completed degrees and endless worrying, was just not for me. It is really emotionally draining and that is just not for me. All my lecturers just looked so tired and weren't completely selling me on life as a social worker. I wanted to do something fun, and as childish as that sounds it's what I'm going to pursue.

This brings me onto where I'm headed now. Throughout both half degrees that I started and never finished one thing stayed the same. I watched beauty videos and read beauty blogs. Researching all the newest releases from beauty brands and learning everything I could about the beauty industry. From all of this I.G.S.N was born and I have loved every minute of writing this blog. The only thing that I lack when it comes to this industry is professional training and a degree! So what am I going to do? WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE ALL ALONG! I'm going to beauty school! The Makeup Academy to be precise here in Melbourne! I am so incredibly excited to start on my new career path with the hopes of becoming a professional makeup artist at the end!!

The point of this post was not just to share my excitement but to also say that you need to "do you" don't let others tell you what career you should follow or what you have to do with your life. Also that it is completely okay to have no clue what you want to do when you're a teenager, because I'm 21 and I'm still figuring it out.

The Wishlist #2

I am trying to place myself on another spending ban...it's not really working, however there are a few items that I have been lusting after recently so why not collect them into a wishlist post!

1. Windsor Smith Pop Heels - I LOVE THESE SHOES. Seriously how cool are they? I want them as a winter heel because your toes would never be cold in them plus they would just dress up any outfit without being too dress up
2. Vans Old Skool - I have always loved the look of vans when paired with really casual outfits or just jeans and a tee. These are not your average pair they are the Old Skool edition and look slightly different. I find the original ones make my feet look huge so maybe these would be different.
3. Toni&Guy Rough Texturizer - When I saw this product I instantly thought of the Oribe one that we cannot get in Australia. This looks exactly like that product but for a fraction of the cost. I actually went out to buy it but couldn't find this anywhere so when I do find it I will be snatching it up!
4. Won Hundred Biker Jacket - I own a few leather type jackets but I do not own A leather jacket. This one looks really casual and chic however with the massive price tag that it carrys it will remain a wish for a really long time.
5. Zoeva Rose Golden Luxurious Brush Set - This little brush set is so beautiful that I just want it right now. The quality of Zoeva brushes is so good for the price tag so next pay check I am seriously considering buy these! Plus the little pouch they come in is also an added adorable bonus
6. Nars Schiap - Bright pink lips terrify me, however I have seen so many people rocking them lately that I want to give it a go. Schiap looks like the perfect colour to start my pink lip adventures!
7. Tony Bianco Mac Boots - These boots would bring out my inner thug. Even though that inner thug is a very very very small part of my it still exists. I just think they have a very cool vibe to them and would spice up an all black outfit or a really simple outfit.

That is my second wishlist post done! Let me know your current wishes in the comments!

Bellabox Australia: June Box Review

This months Bellabox came in quite a large package, the reason being that along with the box we got an added extra of this months InStyle Magazine, this wasn't a surprise as they tend to give you sneak peaks into the boxes each month and this was the 'sneak peak' item.
The little card said "Iconic Beauty" which made me really excited because I was expecting some lipsticks or eye liner to do a classic wing however I was wrong on both parts. Instead I received a tonne of hair things and one lip bit.

 In my box I recieved:

  • Cedal Blow Dry Faster Heat Protector
  • V05 Hot Oil
  • Herbal Essences Naked Shampoo and Conditioner
  • La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Balm
  • Innoxa Lip Liner

I don't know if I'm just having high standards but is anyone else getting slightly sick of the hair and moisturiser bits you get in each box? I know that this box is one of the better boxes I've gotten but 3 out of the 5 bits were hair things, and as much as I love treating my hair I just wish those were makeup bits. I'm just thankful that there aren't any face or hand creams in here because I don't think I have any more room for those types of products as it is all that I get!

One Shade Wonders

This post is dedicated to those shadows that look amazing all over the lid and don't need a complimentary shade added to the crease. These are those shades that require no effort yet look so chic and give the effect of hours well maybe not hours of work on your makeup when in reality you used on brush and just swished one product all over your lids.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze

The colour tattoos from Maybelline are an amazing product. This one in Bad To The Bronze works really well when just patted all over the lid lightly then adding a little bit more on the outer corner. You can also use it as an eye liner for days when you want a more subtle smokey look.

MAC Honesty

Honesty by MAC is a shimmery cool brown colour its so easy to apply and blend onto the lid, its subtle so its perfect for an everyday eye colour that takes seconds to apply.

MAC All That Glitters

All That Glitters from MAC was one of the first shades that I ever got. As you can tell it is well loved and that is because it is gorgeous on the eyes. This product is one of my go to shadows that I apply when I have a tan because it just looks so pretty and shimmer on the eyes. It almost looks wet in some lights which is a look that I love. So easy to blend and so easy to apply I would highly recommend for all the beginners out there!

MAC Sable

Sable is one of my more recent MAC purchases and is probably the darkest of the bunch and is perfect for nights out when you can't be bothered doing a full eye look. It also works really well paired with lipsticks of any colour because its such a neutral brown. This is one of the easiest colours to blend out of the whole bunch and I love it for that.

Urban Decay Sin from the Naked Palette

Lastly is Sin from the Naked Palette, its the lightest of the bunch and one of the prettiest. It looks so girly on the eyes and looks amazing on its own with a bit of mascara. Its also my go to shade for whenever I'm applying a gel liner or a cat eye, especially for everyday.

That wraps up my one shade wonders! Let me know if you have any other recommendations because I am all for the easy eye shadow looks.
