The Everyday Face

Doing my makeup recently has felt like a chore and maybe that's because I've been doing the same thing all the time. So I decided to have a major switch up. Switch up of products, colours and techniques to make doing my everyday routine slightly more exciting.

Base

So I start with Mac Face and Body which I apply with my hands as it works the product better onto the skin as opposed to a brush. Then I go in spot concealing wherever I need it with me Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.  I then use my Mac Prep and Prime BB Compact in Amber as a cream bonzer and can I just say how obsessed I am with this product!! I don't know how I was using powder products for so long when this just looks so natural and so flawless on the skin. It is the perfect shade for my skin tone and has no orange in it whatsoever so its just a natural glow. I'm obsessed. I haven't been powdering my base because Face and Body doesn't leave my skin feeling tacky or wet so I just avoid powdering it all together it also will not go matte no matter how much you powder it so theres no point wasting powder on it!

Cheeks

For my cheeks I have been forcing myself to use blush, and yes I say forcing because using blush for me is not something I normally do. I have a lot of pink and red in my cheeks so I avoid blush at all cost. This blush by Milani in Luminoso is perfect for me as it doesn't come off too pink on my cheeks instead it just creates a kind of peachy glow which I love. I then apply a little of my Hourglass highlighter on my cheekbones for some added glow.

Brows + Eyes

My brow products have stayed the same even though the shape of them hasn't. I've been filling them in a little straighter then I used to which I am currently loving. For my shadows I have been using my Gorgeous Cosmetics Essential Shade Palette so much because it has a range of neutral browns and a matte black which are really easy to use and create any looks.

Lips

Nude lip/gloss has been my go to and this one from Maybelline in Nude illusion is perfect for everday wear, plus it is super moisturising so my lips don't dry out throughout the day!

Move Over Beauty Boxes There's a New Box in Town

Now i'm not sure if I've said this before but last month was my last bellabox as I cancelled my subscription. Now don't get me wrong I have tried bellabox for over 16 months and it has had its highs and lows. Towards the end of our little relationship I wasn't as excited to receive my little blue box each month. So I went searching for a new love and boy have I found one.

The Marie Claire "The Parcel" box is the same thing as the bellabox except instead of being $15 a month its $25 every season. At first I was a bit unsure of paying the extra money because I thought it was going to be like bellabox was. When I received my Parcel this afternoon I was so thrilled with its contents and now will willingly pay the $25 a month because I know that the products are good and are decent sizes. So here is what I received this month!

There is not one thing in this box that I wouldn't use, which makes me one happy little vegemite!

Update + My Work!

Safe to say I've been the worst blogger in the world and the only excuse that I have is that I have been super busy with assignments and makeup assessments that my blog got neglected. Well as far as my makeup assessments go, I only have 1 left and then I'm done with my course which is super crazy to me because it feels like just yesterday that I was writing about my decision to change my career and start living the life that I wanted! Well the time has finally come and after the 21st of December I'll be living that life.

As part of my course we were given the task of developing our own photo shoot, so I thought I'd just share some of the snaps from my shoot! I went for a bronzey glowy makeup because thats the makeup that I love to see and that I love to do. Hope you enjoy these images as much as I do and I promise that I will be back to posting all things beauty once my course is finished!

Viseart Sultry Muse Palette - Review

Prepare yourself for all sorts of kind words that are about to spoken about the Viseart Palette because this palette is seriously amazing.

Through my Makeup Artist course I hear about all sorts of amazing products all the time and the Viseart palettes were an item that kept popping up in conversation. Of of the girls had an all matte palette which was stunning and when she used it on me I fell in love. Browsing the web as I tend to do I found a Viseart palette on ebay for only 35 pounds...they retail for around 95$ here in Australia so this was a great deal to begin with. Then I saw a little message from Ebay saying I could get 20$ off my purchase which ofcourse I used! Long story short I paid around $30 for this palette which is an incredible deal!!

The palette itself 12 shades all of which are shimmery not glittery! theres a difference you can get all matte shades or all shimmers the mattes are next on my list! The Sultry Muse palette has a great mix of shades all of which are completely wearable, my favourites being the two coppery brass shades which look amazing against blue eyes.

The quality of these shadows is insane. They are super buttery to apply and are so pigmented that just touching the shadow leaves your finger tip stained with colour. Another thing I've noticed with the palette is that while the colours look kind of glittery in the pan it doesn't show up as chunky glitter on the eye and instead just shows up as a sort of glow which is stunning. They also work really well without a primer and last ages on the eye lid even with oily lids like I have.

Theres always one shade in every palette that I don't get along with and in this palette its the white one. Purely because I have some kind of aversion to white shadows used anywhere on the eye. However this one is so pigmented and shimmery that it would be amazing for a night time highlight on the cheekbones as it would just give a beautiful glow to the skin.

Overall this palette has become a staple for me and for using on clients as the shadows are just so universal and easy to work with. I will definitely be investing in more of them in the future!

Ralph Lauren - Ralph vs Chi Chi Watermelon Fragrance

Hello again lovely people I have another post coming your way and this ones a good one. If you're a fan of the Ralph fragrance by Ralph Lauren you know the one that we all had as a teen thats in the little blue bottle? well have I found something for you! Browsing the Chi Chi stand in Target as I do I decided to smell the entire range of fragrances that they have and then I cam across the Watermelon fragrance. It smells exactly the same as the Ralph scent! Now as someone who adores the Ralph scent but not the price tag I was so happy to discover this. If you ever get the chance to have a sniff of this one then definitely do and at only $19.95 its a total steal. I would say that the Ralph fragrance is stronger and has a longer lasting time on the skin but thats probably the only difference between the two!

Have you tried either of these fragrances?

DIY Brown Sugar and Coconut Body Scrub

I promised my body scrub recipe and I am delivering it to you! Now keep in mind this isn't some really fancy scrub that's going to stop your skin from ageing or help with any skin issues that you might have but it will keep your skin soft and smooth and that is good enough for me!

You Will Need...

Method

Put it all in the jar and mix! That is literally all you need to do, then you can enjoy the amazing smelling scrub that you now have!

I tend to use this scrub if I'm shaving my legs as it just gets rid of all the dead skin leaving you with a nice smooth surface to then shave on top of.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes - A Not So Good Update

In my September Favourites I added the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes which I was using on and off for a few weeks in the month of September. Obviously because it was a favourites I said that I was loving them because of how easily they removed my makeup which is still very true. However when I bought a new pack of them they have really begun to irritate the hell out of my eyes.

I have sensitive eyes to begin with so I need have a good routine with my products so I don't end up with the whole watery eye situation that can happen. I have nothing against the way these remove makeup because they do an amazing job, I just wont be using them around my eyes anymore purely because of how much it stings and how sore the skin around my eyes has gotten.

Once this packet is finished I wont be re purchasing them, and these are probably the last thing that I'll try from the Neutrogena brand Every time I use one of their products I seem to have this problem so its not worth it for me anymore. If these work well for you please let me know, they just don't work well for me.
